Sunday Comics - das Babytötenmeer (1 of 10)

Morgengrauen = "Dawn"
Wasser-Raffinerie = "water refinery"
schlecht = "bad"
dad Babytötenmeer = "The Sea of Dead Babies"

NOTES:
- Aww. "Sea of Dead Babies". I was younnnnng when I drew this. (I hadn't even taken my pen name yet, look. "By Zoë".)
- I think the parietal suture is the seam in an adult human's skull. Not positive. It may be a more technical term for the fontanelle... I'll Google that some other time, when I'm not on Ecstasy.

PREVIOUS STORY: GRÖK

NEXT WEEK: Das Babytotenmeer p. 2. Amway in his office; biological plumbing.

Ecstasy, and a Radiohead concert. I also habitually carry a cell phone, enjoy money AND the out-of-doors, and term individuals/events "rad" somewhat indiscriminately.

At one point, mid-song, a whole crazy multi-branchular "V" of Canada geese passed over the covered stage, fast and low in the pretty blue dusk - and a mighty cheer went up from the crowd, not a sensitive Radiohead-fan burst of applause now, but a hometown cheer, a B.C. cheer, a hockey cheer. For the damn BIRDS. And Radiohead didn't know what the fuck was going on. Yorke asked, but nobody told him.

It happened another couple of times during the concert. The band, they gave up trying to understand, and just congratulated us-the-spectators on (also) being on such fine, fine local dope.

Good show. Yorke's a poncing rock star sexbitch.

I don't think most Americans realize that there is a strange experiment going on just over the border. The canadian goose thing goes in the category in the mnemonic system. ('Slike Bruno's, but instead of having divine archetecture of the mind, mine looks like a buch of recycling bins.) By the way, thousands of canadian geese have taken to living fulltime in Oakland near Lake Merritt, the Lake within the city, just next to downtown. I wonder if this is part of a broader canadian strategy.

I should see Radiohead sometime. Their new album is nice enough.

I met Yorke once, back in the days of Pablo Honey. Belly had headlined, and everyone was swarming around them after the concert. I had been more impressed by Radiohead, myself. Thom Yorke was standing by himself, looking a little lost and vulnerable. He was so tiny offstage.

I told him how much I enjoyed their music, how awesome the show had been... and he shrugged and said, "It was ok, I guess." Apparently sincere, completely unassuming. Then I felt silly for being a gushing fan, so I simply wished him well and let him be.

Tha's adorable. Yes, he's done good work, Thom Yorke. Made the world a safer place for tiny, weedy English boys with great big ears, lazy eyes and squeaky voices.

Mmmm. Dead Baby Juice.

It's part of a complete breakfast.

Even the day after your brain has been frazzled from MDMA.

*yawng* We're having crepes. (dead baby crepes? possibly.) What I'd like to know is how my bed got all full of crumbled-up chocolate chip cookie pieces? Because if they're from the batch I think they are, I'm still gonna eat 'em.

You can probably slice their heads in half and press them in an orange juicer.

I like using the blender. It just dos it better. I mean, if the babies are already dead, why waste them? It is probably more nutritious than those factory farmed eggs. Yuck!

It's an excellent word for it. Very descriptive. DAMN I had a good time. Good old B.C. audiences, they don't dance, but just mention weed to them and you'll be literally, physically SHOWERED with fat sticky joints. Try it.

Amway does not like to boast. It remains little-known that he invented Zen himself, one lazy afternoon.
